Quotations from works

You are allowed to take quotations from works in accordance with Article 22. But you have to take into account that the reference must always have some connection to your own work. The meaning of reference is to connect your own work to earlier works. Citations must be in accordance with good custom and they can be only as extensive as required by the purpose. The creator must be identified and the works may not be altered.

According to article 25 one is allowed to take photographs from published work of arts to be used in critical or scientific representation as far as the photograph relates to the text. You should take into account, that allthough university teaching is in general reagared as scientific, it is not certain if it in all situations can be considered as scientific representation. Theses made by university students can mainly be considered as scientific representations.
