Welcome to the European First Year Experience Conference website!

The goal of the European First Year Experience Conference is to create an environment where educators, researchers and other support staff from universities across Europe can meet and through the sessions, share new research results and innovative practices and experiences in the area. The aim is also to explore ways to address students’ needs and share and develop strategies to optimize student success as well as give the participants new ideas of how to develop and increase the quality of student support at their respective universities.

The conference will be held at the University of Helsinki from May 13th to May 15th, 2013, presenting keynote speakers Dr. Diane Nutt, Teesside University, Director André van Zyl, University of Johannesburg, Professor Sari Lindblom-Ylänne, University of Helsinki and Vice-Rector, Professor Jukka Kola, University of Helsinki.

The theme of the 2013 conference is “My University – making the most of the first year experience”.
