Here some recents shots from Rytilampi – we decided to have a bit closer look at this fascinating ‘pond’ (4.98 ha, max depth ca. 5.1 m) and life in it. An extensive and invasive sampling by mosquitoes and black-flies made the work slightly less pleasurable as it might appear from the pictures. As the RV PullMonkey is still dry-docked after it’s latest polar expedition, a new RV (“Backbreaker Oblivion” [name generated by random ship name generator]) was launched to support operations in Rytilampi.
