Which list to join?

All our mailing lists have completely different purposes. If you want to stay updated about events and other news to foreign students, join the foreign-students -list. This is the right choice for all exchange students: it’s for announcements only and moderated and therefore spam-free.

In order to join one of the mailing lists, do the following:

Write an e-mail to the address majordomo@helsinki.fi.

Leave the subject line blank.

Depending on which mailing list you want to join, write the following line into the message.

• If you want to join the foreign-students mailing list, write:
  subscribe foreign-students
• If you want to join the fs-chat mailing list, write
  subscribe fs-chat
• If you want to join the degree-students mailing list, write
  subscribe degree-students
• If you want to join the esn-helsinki mailing list, write
  subscribe esn-helsinki

Send the e-mail. You will get an automatic reply to this e-mail which will tell you exactly how you have to proceed with the subscription. If you follow those instructions, you will successfully join the list.

Do you have problems signing up?

YAHOO addresses won’t receive the e-mails send to the foreign-students list. Please use other e-mail when joining the list.

Majordomo does not always understand e-mails that are in html-format, such as the e-mails sent from a hotmail account. We recommend that you use your helsinki.fi-address instead of hotmail for subscribing to the lists.
