Welcome to the Network for Higher Education and Innovation Research website!
The Network for Higher Education and Innovation Research (HEINE) has been established to bolster research and education in science, technology and innovation studies, higher education, and the economics of education at the University of Helsinki.
The objective of the network is to produce scientific knowledge that is relevant to educational policy-making and has value for the development of higher education.
Network units
The core of the network consists of four units:
- Helsinki Center of Economic Research (HECER) is responsible for research in economics of education and innovation.
- Higher Education Governance and Management (HEGOM) is responsible for research on higher education policies, university management, and changes in the academic profession.
- Helsinki Institute of Science and Technology (HIST) is responsible for research on the innovation system and its changes as well as on the development of science and the scientific community.
- Centre for Research and Development of Higher Education (YTY) promotes research-based education and its development.
Administratively, the network operated under the Faculty of Social Sciences.
