The long term goal of Helsinki AUV is to build a small autononous submarine capable of crossing the Atlantic ocean independently (see The Microtransat Challenge). Our next short term goal is a non-diving autonomous version of the submarine (a boat) that can make short independent ships and takes all of its power from the battery. The final version is meant to generate power using solar cells to recharge battery and enable longer trips.
