The day I arrived, August 11th is the national day of minorities in Pakistan (and my boss’ birthday). On August 11th 1947 father of the nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah gave his speech before the assembly to support and give rights for the minorities:

“You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other place or worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed that has nothing to do with the business of the State.”

Politicians still have work to do. Things have been better.

About Pan Hao

Theology and economics student doing an internship with a local NGO in Pakistan. I wanted to come to Pakistan to see an Islamic country, learn more about Islam and politics in this area, see NGO's work from inside and hopefully help the poor. And because Pakistan is Pakistan:)
