Ethical investment in food industry

Docent Janne Nikk inen, CEACG’s long term gambling researcher and expert, serves as a PI in the project “Responsible Investment and the Food Industry – Socio-ethical Reflections” (RIFISER). Focusing on the ethicality of responsible investment, the project investigates how investors value and implement the social and environmental good. Focus is mainly put on the food industry.

RIFISER, which is a so called three-year project (2016-2018) funded by the University of Helsinki, examines the implementation of responsible investment by institutional investors, especially in Finland and the Netherlands. The project is interdisciplinary (agriculture and food science, economics and management, social ethics and business ethics) and multisited (University of Helsinki, Faculties of Theology and Agriculture and Forestry; University of Groningen, Faculty of Economics and Business)
