The originality of the project follows from the research design, which allows analyses how public institutions and agencies act in collaborative programs and projects aiming at innovative change and of the mechanisms that enable a long-term utilization of innovations.

Selected case studies within key policy fields – such as welfare services, regional and urban development and ICT – enables in depth studies of the facilitating capacities of public institutions in areas that are particularly pertinent for meeting the aforementioned challenges of the Nordic welfare model.

This research design contributes with another element of novelty to the project.
