The aims of the postgraduate studies in chemistry education at the Department of Chemistry are to (i) learn to engage in chemistry education research, (ii) study in more depth the research methodology of chemistry education and pursuing research on chemistry education, (iii) learn to present research results verbally and in writing, and (iv) participate in the scholarly discourse in the field. Postgraduate students participate in scientific conferences in chemistry education in Finland and/or abroad.
The Postgraduate Seminar in Chemistry Education (5 ECTS) is organised for the postgraduate students. The seminar information is relayed also to chemistry teachers working at schools and other cooperation partners through a website. Most of the chemistry education students work as teachers at different levels.
