You can check out books for long loan periods from May 21^st (2 day short loans June 14th-15^th).

The library closes after June 15th. Services will be available September 3rd in the main library in Kaisa House. Welcome!

Packing starts in Metsätalo library – Get your summer books now!

Please Note that the 3rd floor of the library closes its doors after May 18th. The Philosophy and Finno-Ugrian studies collections and study space on the 3^rd floor will no longer be available next week.

Library closes June 15th. Services will be available September 3rd in the main library in Kaisa House. Welcome!

All City Centre Campus libraries are closed Thursday May 17.

Wednesday May 16 the libraries are open as follows:

9 am – 4 pm: Law, Social Sciences, Theology
9 am – 6 pm: Metsätalo (Linguistics, Philology and Philosophy), Minerva (Behavioural Sciences), Undergraduate Library,,

Friday May 18 all libraries are open

9 am – 4 pm

Long-term loans from the library in Metsätalo

You can now check out books for long loan periods from the libray in Metsätalo (Linguistics, Philology and Philosophy). We recommend that you check out books at the latest on May 18, after that we start packing the collections for the move to the Kaisa House. The Metsätalo library is open for the last day on June 15.

The new library in the Kaisa House opens September 3, 2012. Welcome!

Used books for free – welcome!

Undergraduate Library (Fabianinkatu 32) gives used books now for free. Due to the move to Kaisa-House, there are cheap or free used books available in all City Centre Campus libraries. Welcome!

Law Library Closes at 5 p.m. Today

Unfortunately, we have to close the Law Library at 5 p.m. today. The libraries that are open (for example the Undergraduate Library) will accept returns from the Law Library. We apologize for the inconvenience.

All City Centre Campus libraries are open 9 am – 4 pm on April 5. During the Easter holiday Friday April 6 – Monday April 9 all libraries are closed.

Changes and renovations in the Library for Behavioural Sciences in Minerva

The new library in the Kaisa House opens in September 2012. The library in Minerva becomes smaller. The reading room , the conference rooms for small groups, and the periodical area first become World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 destinations and after that these areas will be in the use of the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences.

The renovations start in the library’s K-2 floor in April. Entrance to the library from April 2 only from floor K1 where the library’s customer service is located.

The silent reading room

The silent reading room will be replaced by a reading area (K140) with 12 seats in the library’s K1 floor.

Conference rooms for small groups

Conference rooms K227-K229 will not be in use from April. K230 will remain as a conference room that students can reserve and the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences will arrange new conference rooms on Siltavuorenpenger. These conference rooms are reserved as earlier through the reservation calender (in Finnish) in Alma: https://varaus.it.helsinki.fi/day.php?area=49

Book and periodical collections

The book collections remain in Minerva. The two latest volumes of periodicals remain in Minerva’s open collection. The periodicals in the K2 floor are moved to Minerva’s closed stacks from which the staff fetches them on the request of patrons. During the move to the cl0sed stacks some of these periodicals will not be available.
The oldest volumes of periodicals are moved to the Kaisa House in May and will not be available from the last week of April till the beginning of September.

The Library for Behavioural Sciences in Minerva is open and provides customer service during these changes and renovations. We apologize for any inconvenience.
