Isotopist, paleoecologist, -climatologist. I apply isotope geochemical techniques to study a variety of topics related to past environments. Current projects deal with (1) 8000 years of climate history in Finnish Lapland as reflected by tree-ring carbon isotopes (2) Holocene saline water inflows to the Baltic Sea, (3) MIS 3-2 climate and environment in Europe and Wrangel Island, (4) 20th century features in Vestfonna glacier ice, Svalbard.
