Summertime begins at the campus libraries on May 21st. Check the opening hours!

Opening hours at the Viikki and Meilahti campus libraries in the summer

  • 21.5. – 21.6. Mon-Fri 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., customer service 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • 22.6. – 5.8. closed
  • 6.8. – 26.8. Mon-Fri 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., customer service 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Long loan periods will start on May 24th. Loans from Viikki and Meilahti will receive a due date on August 7th as follows:

      • 28 day loans starting on May 24th
      • 14 day loans (textbooks) starting on June 7th.

When the campus libraries are closed, please contact the Main Library Kaisa House customer service at the 3rd floor. Customer service is open Mon-Fri 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.  We try to answer e-mails during the following working day.

Kumpula Campus Library is closed for renovations the whole summer

The last day the library will be open, is Friday May 18th, and it will reopen in autumn 2018. When the Kumpula Campus Library is closed, please use the facilities in the Main Library Kaisa House. Further information: Kumpula 2018

Cash no longer accepted in the campus libraries

The summer vacation ended in the campus libraries in Kumpula and Viikki, and they are open again starting August 7th. Welcome back! Please notice, that we still have summer opening hours (Mon-Fri 9-16) until August 27th.

Cash no longer accepted in the campus libraries

We no longer accept cash payments at the service desks in the campus libraries. Only payment by card is available. You can still pay with cash in the Main Library in Kaisa House. You can also pay overdue and reservation fees online after logging into your Helka account.

Opening hours during fall semester (August 28th – December 17th, 2017)

Helsinki University Library is back to normal opening hours on Monday August 28th.

Kumpula Campus Library is open Mon-Fri 8-18, customer service desk Mon-Fri 10-17. During the rest of the opening hours library operates as Self-Service Library.

Viikki Campus Library is open Mon-Fri 8-19, customer service desk Mon-Fri 10-17. During the rest of the opening hours library operates as Self-Service Library.

Meilahti Campus Library at Terkko Health Hub opens on Monday September 4th. The library is open Mon-Fri 8-20, customer service desk 10-17. During the rest of the opening hours library operates as Self-Service Library.

Main Library Kaisa House is open Mon-Fri 8-20 and Sat 11-17. Customer service on the 3rd floor is open Mon-Fri 10-19 and Sat 11-17. During the rest of the opening hours library operates as Self-Service Library.

Summertime begins at the campus libraries on May 22nd. Check the opening hours!

Meilahti Campus Library Terkko is closed all summer

The last day Terkko will be open is Friday May 19th, 2017 and the building will reopen in the beginning of the autumn term in 2017. Read more: Changes in Terkko

From Monday 22.5. onwards you can return books to a return box at the lobby in Haartmaninkatu 3 until Terkko opens again. During the summer Haartmaninkatu 3 is open Mon-Fri 7:45-16.00. Read more: SUMMER 2017 in the Library

Summer opening hours at the Viikki and Kumpula campus libraries

  • 22.5. – 22.6. Mon-Fri 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • 23.6. – 6.8. closed
  • 7.8. – 27.8. Mon-Fri 9 a.m. – 4. p.m.

On Ascension Day May 25th all libraries are closed

On Ascension Day all library locations and learning centres are closed. Aleksandria can be accessed with the magnetic key.

On Wednesday May 24th Helsinki University Library is open as follows:

  • Main Library 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., customer service 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Kumpula and Viikki 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Learning Centre Aleksandria 8 a.m. – 5.45 p.m.
  • Learning Centre Minerva 8 a.m. – 3.45 p.m.
