The Research Centre for Mathematics and Science Education (RCMSE) conducts research and development work in several areas related to school mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, and technology education. The aim is to develop education both at school and university levels in the respective sciences, and therefore, research is strongly interconnected with practice and derives from educational theories.
Current activities relate especially with teaching-studying-learning processes, models of teaching in mathematics, science and technology education, and modern information and communication technologies in these areas, as well as developing and producing of teaching and learning materials. RCMSE has wide cooperational networks with other Finnish universities and research groups as well as intensive international research cooperation.
