Citizenship and Participation in Immigrant Policies. A comparative study of Finland and Denmark.

The working title of Marjukka Weide’s Ph.D. project is /Citizenship and Participation in Immigrant Policies. A comparative study of Finland and Denmark./ She analyses policies which aim at enhancing or otherwise regulating the political citizenship of new ethnic minorities and their members, asking especially what kind of expectations and roles are constructed for the newcomers/minorities within these policies. Another focus is on gender and language as aspects of citizenship in the context of what is called “immigrant integration”.
