I’m a sociologist with a background in criminology and sociology of law. Areas of expertise include crime victim surveys (see Finnish National Crime Victim Survey) and compensation of victims of crime. Working on a doctoral thesis focusing on neighbourhood disadvantage and crime.

Chairman of the board at the Finnish Society of Criminal Law and Criminology (Suomen Kriminalistiyhdistys – Kriminalistföreningen i Finland). Member of the Board at the Finnish Association for Legal and Social Sciences (Oikeus- ja yhteiskuntatieteellinen yhdistys).
