Teaching

At the University of Helsinki the brand new Politics and Communication Studies joined degree programmes and international Masters’ Programmes in Global Politics & Communication and in European and Nordic Studies include courses on populism.

We also teach at the Helsinki Summer School. In 2017 and 2018:  Populism in Europe & Beyond, taught by Halil Gürhanli, and Rhetoric-Performative Postfoundational Analysis, taught by Emilia Palonen.

In addition to university teaching, Emilia Palonen collaborates actively with pre-university educational institutions (lukio) in Helsinki and Tampere in 2017–2018 the Finnish Education Board funded project’s theme is WeQ Goes Populism. The aim is to build bridges between university and the larger society students in both institutions, and in multi-disciplinary thematic teaching enhance knowledge of and perspectives to populism.
