Final practical information

Location

Tieteiden talo (The House of Science and Letters) is located in the quarter Kruununhaka on Kirkkokatu 6, close to the Helsinki Cathedral (Tuomiokirkko). The closest metro stop is at Kaisaniemi, several trams stop close to Tieteiden Talo (either at Kansallisarkisto or Hallituskatu). The following tool http://www.reittiopas.fi/ which has a good interface in English and Russian will help you find the location regardless of me ans of transportation wherever you are staying in the Helsinki area.

Internet and copying

Tieteiden talo provides free wireless internet. Passwords will be made available at the conference. If you need special programs for your presentation (e.g. ELAN), consider using your own laptop. Standard software is pre-installed on the computers of Tieteiden talo.

As there are no copying or printing facilities at the conference location and its vicinity, please bring your own handouts. If you send your handout by Monday 9:00 to samoyedology-2014_at_ helsinki.fi as a pdf, we can make the necessary amount of handouts for you and bring them to the conference location.

Excursion to the National Museum of Finland

On Thursday morning, we will meet at the National Museum of Finland (Mannerheimintie 34) at 9:50. Use http://www.reittiopas.fi/ to find your way!

Eating and drinking

We have reserved time for slightly longer lunch breaks (1230-14:00) as there are no large restaurants or cafés in the vicinity of Tieteiden talo. As several ministries are nearby, most restaurants are rather crowded until 13:00.
