The University of Helsinki had a great pleasure to arrange a seminar for the highly distuinguished representatives of the Beijing Normal University. The visit of the BNU- delegation was a one step further in the ongoing, bilateral collaboration between China and Finland. The University of Helsinki was responsible on the schedule of Monday the 21st of September. Despite the tight schedule and some last minute changes the day was a successful contribution to the Sino – Finnish collaboration in many levels.
The seminar at the faculty of Behavioral Sciences gathered a diversed group of experts in the same room for a dialogue on the future collaboration on various fields of science (e.g. education, neuroscience, law, medicine, air quality etc.). In addition to the University of Helsinki the Universities of Turku, Tampere, Oulu and Eastern Finland were represented.

The dialogue continued at the lunch, hosted by the Director General Tapio Kosunen from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. During the lunch some presents were exchanged and common grounds were established.
After the lunch the BNU- delegation had a chance to visit one of the Teacher Training Schools of the University of Helsinki in Viikki. The Principal Marja K. Martikainen gave also a great presentation on the education at the Viikki Teacher Training School.
The Center for Playful Learning was also introduced by Professor Kristiina Kumpulainen.
A visit to the LUMA centre for the natural sciences and math was also fitted to the tight schedule.
In the evening it was time to relax after the busy day and enjoy a great dinner in the restaurant Bronda hosted by the Vice Rector of the University of Helsinki, Professor Anna Mauranen.
