I am a post-doctoral researcher currently at the Department of Political and Economic Studies, University of Helsinki, Finland. My master’s degree is from sociology (University of Helsinki, 2000) and my PhD from management and organisation (Hanken School of Economics, 2009). My research work has covered several studies around organisations, men and masculinities, gender equality, national defence and security, peacekeeping, and work-related wellbeing.
Currently I work in research project Who is who in security? Gender perspectives on civil-military relations in changing security environment.
I am the chair of the coordination group for women’s studies in the faculty of social sciences. Additionally, I act as the responsible teacher of the doctoral seminar for women’s studies at the faculty (Naistutkimuskorin jatkokoulutusseminaari). I am active also in the board of Suomen Miestutkimuksen Seura (Finnish Society for Studies on Men).
