Jokisuiston koulu

Koulu on lähellä kaupungin historiallisia syntysijoja.

The majority of the school’s pupils come from either a traditional wooden house area or a newer area of apartment buildings. Some of the pupils come from outside of these areas from other parts of the town. The school is located close to the historic centre of the town. A sports field and outdoor recreation routes, as well as large highways, can be found near the school. The school operates in two separate buildings, one of which represents the first generation of city elementary schools from the 1920s and the other is dates back to the 1970s era of construction with prefabricated units.

About two thirds of the respondents were heading for upper secondary school education after the 9th grade and a third were aiming at vocational training. The pupils were aiming quite evenly at vocational, polytechnic and academic degrees, although more than a third was unable to specify their desired degree.
