The Erasmus Programme is the European Commission’s educational exchange programme for university students, teachers and institutions. From 2007 on, Erasmus is one of the sectoral programmes supported under the Lifelong Learning Programme. It is targeted at the higher education institutions and their students and staff in all 28 EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey.
From the point of view of the university networks, the fault of Erasmus is that it is based on bilateral exchange agreements and presupposes that the students and teachers who are mobilized belong to the signing university, i.e. the University of Helsinki in our case. Students in other universities of the network should check their international services for the opportunities of Erasmus exchange.
A complete list of Erasmus possibilities can be found on the ECEBB web page.
A student can obtain the Erasmus exchange scholarship only once.
