An opportunity to study in Higher School of Economics in Moscow or St.Petersburg autumn 2018 or spring 2019
Aleksanteri Institute has an agreement on student and researcher exchange with Higher School of Economics which includes two 5 months student exchange places per academic year at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow or in St. Petersburg.
All those students who are interested in this excellent possibility, we encourage to send us (vie-maisterikoulu at helsinki.fi) a short description of motivation to study in HSE and how it would improve your studies, before 9th November. Please mention in your motivation letter which one you prefer more, Moscow or St. Petersburg and which semester (autumn or spring).
After applications, we will do a preliminary selection and send nominations to Moscow and St.Petersburg. After that selected students will apply trough HSE’s own system (in case of St.Petersburg: https://podio.com/webforms/8767461/649831).
The university will send invitations for students to apply for visa. According to regulations of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the applicant’s passport must be valid at least 18 months beginning from the validity start date of the visa.

We will offer for selected students 200 euros grant/month and cover traveling cost (Helsinki-Moscow-Helsinki or Helsinki-SPb-Helsinki, lowest fare).
You can include courses connected to Russia and Eastern Europe into ExpREES programme.

Ukraine, Kiev – students of UH
NB! Due to the situation in Ukraine, this programme is not open for applications for now.
University of Helsinki has bilateral exchange agreement with Ukraine, where partner university is National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
In Kiev student can attend courses in English and Ukrainian if language skills are good enough. Ukrainian language courses (Ukrainian as a second language) are free of charge for exchange students. Application requirement for Ukrainian as a second language and courses in English is Ukrainian Language I course completed at University of Helsinki if applicant commits his/herself to complete also Ukrainian Language courses II and III before departure to Kiev.
Students of all faculties can apply for exchange studies under bilateral agreements. The process is carried out by International Exchange Services.

Only students of University of Helsinki may apply for Aleksanteri Institute’s Erasmus exchange. Application form and detailed information can be found here. Students leaving for Erasmus exchange may receive a scholarship, the amount of which changes yearly.
