FinCEAL Plus open travel grants now open for applications
The 2nd round of FinCEAL Plus Open Travel Grants is open from 16 November 2015 onwards and until further notice.
Each regional component (Africa, Asia and LAC) will award a maximum of 20 000€ in total for travel grants under this Call. Please note that the regional components act independently and the funding situation can vary between the components.
The call is open to researchers and PhD students based in Finnish research institutions, who are working within the FinCEAL Plus themes, to facilitate their participation in:
a) Consortia or networking meetings with European and African/Asian/LAC partners with the purpose of applying for EU-research funding, e.g. Horizon 2020, ERA-NET Calls, EuropeAid research calls (only calls with research element are eligible);
b) Regionally significant Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) meetings, policy dialogue events, workshops; and
c) Networking meetings, events or conferences within the project thematic areas:
- Africa – Food security, Health, Climate Change, Renewable energy and Information Society;
- Asia – Health, Food Security and Safety, Water Management, Renewable Energy, Cleantech and ICT; and
- Latin America and the Caribbean – ICT for societal challenges, Bioeconomy, Renewable Energy, Health, Biodiversity and Climate Change.
Applicants should have an active role in the event, e.g. paper presentation, moderator role. Priority will be given to events of a bi-regional nature, e.g. that involve participants from several European and African, European and Asian or European and LAC countries. Please note that the planned travel must occur anytime between 1st of January 2016 and 31st September 2016. Travel that is planned to occur outside of this time period cannot be applied for.
