Suomalainen koulutusjärjestelmä ja Helsingin yliopiston opettajankoulutus muodostavat vahvan perustan kansainväliselle PISA-tunnettuudelle ja ovat kasvavassa määrin kiinnostava vientituote. Opettajankoulutuslaitoksen hankkeissa yhdistyvät tieteellinen osaaminen, oppimisen sisällöt, fyysiset tilat, teknologia, palvelut ja verkostot, joiden avulla suomalaisen tasa-arvoisen oppimismallin mahdollisuuksia voidaan levittää sekä kansallisesti että kansainvälisesti.
Design Learning Conference
Welcome to the 5th Intercultural Arts Education Conference: Design Learning on the 10th-11th of May 2012!
Designing is the most enchanting of all human cognitive creations. This conference has a holistic approach to the concept of design learning, which can be connected with product as well as process. ‘Design in mind’ is a creative process that offers new ways of thinking and sharing ideas in a group. We believe that design is a process in which problems are discussed and solved, in which the educational atmosphere is open to new ideas and in which design is seen as a generic cultural activity.
The theme of the conference promotes the Finnish and European educational theme of design, arts and culture as a means to improve the lives of children. The main problem is to define what is meant by design learning in European teacher education. The city of Helsinki will be the World Design Capital in 2012. Our conference theme ‘design learning’ can also be seen as the way in which the University of Helsinki will participate in this World Design Capital Jubilee year.
