Kaisaniemi metro station is now University of Helsinki metro station!

If you’ve travelled to uni by metro recently, you might have seen the signs at Kaisaniemi metro station being changed to “Helsingin yliopisto”. Since University of Helsinki celebrates its 375^th birthday this year, the City of Helsinki decided to change the name of the metro station as a gift to the university. Yesterday, on Tuesday 20^th of January, the change became official. As a way of celebration and recognition, Helsinki Mayor Jussi Pajunen presented University of Helsinki rector Jukka Kola with the new name plate.
