The play is English, subtitles are in Finnish.

Three women, three generations, tied together not only by blood but also by the magic of the river that runs through their remote Finnish town. On the day of Eva’s graduation, her mother disappears and her grandmother is diagnosed with dementia. As Eva tries to make sense of her life now that pieces of her world are missing, past memories seem to rise out of the mist on the river.

Finnish playwright Paula Salminen’s lingering, atmospheric play examines family, destiny and the journey that brings them together. This is the first co-production between two of Scotland’s leading theatre companies Lung Ha and Stellar Quines.

For HYY members tickets to 13 Sunken Years are only 10 € (normal student ticket 18,50 €).

The shows are held on 21 May and 22 May at 7pm.

Tickets can be booked by calling the National Theatre ticket office number: 010 7331 331. When booking, please mention the booking code: HYY. Tickets can be collected from the National Theatre ticket office and you must present the student card which proves HYY’s membership.
