The project was introduced for the first time to the general public in Martti Leiwo’s lecture in October 6, 2015. The event was organised by the Classical Association of Finland (KFY) at the Main Building of the University of Helsinki. His lecture was titled “Suoraa puhetta kirjeissä – kirjeenkirjoittajia Egyptin autiomaassa”, which can roughly be translated as “Direct speech in letters – letter writers in the Egyptian Desert” with a pun to speaking frankly vs. linguistic direct speech. The vivid discussion after the presentation was continued in restaurant Kosmos.
