Joonas Ahola

Joonas Ahola is an Adjunct Professor (Docent) based in Folklore Studies at the University of Helsinki. He has done extensive research in the traditions and literature of medieval Iceland, the culture and discourse surrounding the Viking Age in Finland, and premodern Finnish traditions and Karelian oral poetry traditions in the context of Soviet nation-building projects.
