The Finnish China Law Center hosted in April 2013 Dr Knut Pissler, Head of the China Unit and China-Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Hamburg. Dr Pissler had been invited by Dr Yifeng Chen to give a lecture on the “Past and Future of Foreign Investment in China”. This presentation opened a series of guest lectures organized under the auspices of the Center.
The visit of Dr Pissler has not only the merit of sharing his expertise in the field of investment law in China but also marks a starting point of the collaboration between the Finnish China Law Center and the Max Planck Institute.
Indeed, as the first joint undertaking, Prof. Ulla Liukkunen, Dr Yifeng Chen and Dr Pissler, organize together a research seminar on “Employee Participation and Collective Bargaining in the Era of Globalization” to be held in Hamburg in May 2014. More information on the seminar and the cooperation between the two institutions will follow soon.
