The Asian Programme is an internet-based interdisciplinary study programme which provides students with basic knowledge of business, societies and cultures of East, Southeast and South Asia. Its courses aim at offering students insights into social, political, economic situation as well as business cultures and practices in China and other Asian countries.
The programme has been coordinated by the Finnish University Network for Asian Studies for 20 years, attracting over 1000 students. The studies are free of charge for registered degree and exchange students at the University of Helsinki, as well as students from other member universities of the Finnish University Network for Asian Studies (Aalto University, University of Jyväskylä, Tampere University, University of Turku, University of Vaasa, Åbo Akademi University).
The courses are offered on both basic and advanced level. Students can take individual courses or combine two or more courses into a minor degree.
The application period is 26 August– 15 September 2019 for courses held during the autumn term, and 4 – 24 November 2019 for courses provided during the spring term.
