Sino-Russian Relations: Recent Trends and Issues

In this lecture, Prof. Samoylov will present the results of the analysis of the state of Sino-Russian relations in 2016. Special attention will be given to the role of multilateral institutions in guaranteeing security in East Asia, the alignment of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Silk Road Economic Belt projects, as well as Russia-China scientific, educational and cultural cooperation. He will focus on priorities of Russian and Chinese foreign policies, and especially on the prospects for interaction between Russia, China and the USA in a new situation.

Prof. Samoylov is the head of Department of Theory of Asian and African Social Development as well as the director of the Center for Chinese Studies at St. Petersburg State University.
