On April 3, there will be an international workshop “Order in the Indo-Pacific” at the University of Helsinki. The workshop is related to a new policy-oriented project titled “Order in the Indo-Pacific: Gauging the Region’s Perspectives on EU Strategies and Constructive Involvement” funded by Stiftung Mercator in Germany. The project seeks to enhance the EU policy community’s understanding of the Indo-Pacific order through the regional viewpoints of Japan, India, South Korea, Australia, and Vietnam. Our team includes Julie Yu-Wen Chen from the University of Helsinki, Finland; Jagannath Panda from the Institute for Security & Development Policy, Sweden; and Richard Ghiasy from GeoStrat Consulting, The Netherlands. The objective of the Helsinki workshop is to kick off the project by introducing our principal researchers and their analyses of Japan, China and the United States in the current Indo-Pacific order.
