The course familiarizes the current global discussion related to climate change as well as it introduces local instruments designed in to ensure reduction of carbon emission and adaptation to climate change. The course starts with lectures related to international agreements and political debates related to sustainable development and climate change. After that the course presents cases from different continents and through these cases reviews the global and local solutions in mitigation of and adaptation to climate change. The course includes a blend of lectures, reflections, group discussions and group presentations based on the course literature and additional material.
