Effects of Climate Change on Arctic Ecosystems and Societies

Climate change is projected to have the most dramatic effects on Arctic areas. How will the ecosystems and societies survive?

Between July 3 and 14, 2016, a group of 26 students, 5 assistant supervisors, and 10 lecturers / senior supervisors are attending a multidisciplinary summer school in Nuuk and Reykjavík to learn about the special features of Arctic ecosystems and societies.

They conduct small projects interviewing local communities, working with data obtained from Arctic and sub-Arctic research stations, visit measurement sites, and learn specific research methodologies in both social and natural sciences.

You can follow the course on Twitter (#ArcticCourse). Selected lectures and sessions are also broadcast through Periscope by @AnttiLauri.

The students, divided into six groups working with different topics, will also prepare blog postings to be published here.
