The seminar explores the development and features of various forms of media in China and the increasingly popular online social media. Case studies will be introduced to help to understand the interactions between the media and other institutions, the market and the state. How Chinese state media have shaped the views of foreign audience on China and the Chinese will be discussed.

Students can obtain 2-3 academic credits by attending the seminar and writing an essay. More information
