ACTIVITY MISSION

Future comes with change and to tackle the unforeseen questions ahead of us will require combined efforts and creative solutions. As such, in coming years, experts in all fields will be expected to have three essential abilities:

 1. Empathy and skills for teamwork

 2. Ability to handle increasingly complex phenomena

 3. Creativity to find novel solutions

In Creative Scientific Thinking, we practice these skills in an informal atmosphere. The case themes are interdisciplinary, which allows people with different backgrounds (from basic biosciences to applied, technical or humanistic fields) to participate. Also, the case themes are such that students at different stages of their studies and academics can take part in the group work. This online activity serves as an elective 5-credit course (NEU-415).

The Code of Conduct is guided by the principle of Kindness, meaning that in all discussions and actions, we should promote and protect each other’s wellbeing. Being kind builds the trust required for innovative group work. You can do this by:

  • Communicating and giving constructive feedback by using words such as YES+AND…
  • Giving the opportunity for everybody in the group to be heard
  • Processing all ideas
  • Documenting your discussions using Zoom Chat
  • Seeing that everyone contributes with at least one comment
