Tietojenkäsittelytieteen osasto (CS) on saanut paljon uusia opettajia. Osaston opiskelijat järjestävät opiskelijoille ja henkilökunnalle yhteisen tutustumistilaisuuden 1.10.

The Department of Computer Science has lots of new teachers. CS students organise an event on Oct 1st to bring new and old staff and students together.

Lukuvuosi on saatu hyvin käyntiin ja tutkimus sekä opetus ovat taas täydessä vauhdissa. Osastollemme saapui ennätysmäärä uusia opiskelijoita, mutta olemme saaneet viime aikoina myös todella paljon uutta henkilökuntaa.

Tästä lähtökohdasta lähdimme suunnittelemaan lukuvuodelle uutta aloitustapahtumaa, jolla saadaan henkilökuntaa ja opiskelijoita lähemmäs toisiaan. Käytävillä on paljon uusia naamoja joita ei välttämättä tunnista opettajaksi tai kollegaksi.

Kutsummekin siis kaikki tietojenkäsittelytieteen osaston opiskelijat sekä koko henkilökunnan tapahtumaan! Tapahtumassa uudet henkilökunnan jäsenet esittelevät itsensä lyhyesti. Erityisesti kaivataan esittelyjä uudelta opetushenkilökunnalta, mutta myös tutkijat ja muu henkilökunta on tervetulleita näyttäytymään! *

Tilaisuuden jälkeen on tarjolla pientä purtavaa ja virvokkeita, joiden äärellä on mahdollisuus tutustua toisiinsa vapaammin.

Tilaisuus järjestetään yhteistyössä tietojenkäsittelytieteen osaston, opintoedustajien ja opetusvaradekaanin kanssa.

The semester has started well and both research and teaching are at full speed. We have a record amount of new students, but also have lately gotten vast amounts of new staff.

From this premise we planned a new starting event for the semester to bring staff and students closer together. There are many new faces, and it can be hard to tell if they’re teachers or colleagues.

Thus we invite every student and staff member from the department of computer science to the event! In the event new staff members introduce themselves briefly. Introductions are most welcome from all the staff, but especially the teaching staff! *

After the event some snacks and refreshments are served to have a possibility to get to know each other more informally.

The event is organised in collaboration by department of computer science, student representatives and vice dean for teaching.
