Donate spoken data in Finnish and Swedish

The Language Bank of Finland and the Swedish Literary Society in Finland are collecting Finland-Swedish speech data (https://doneraprat.fi)  (see YLE article with video: Vill du att röststyrning ska fungera på finlandssvenska? Kom med och donera prat [Do ​​you want voice control to work in Finland-Swedish? Come and donate speech]). Note that the campaign for collecting spoken Finnish also continues (https://lahjoitapuhetta.fi/).

artificially correct – a hackathon on bias in data and AI systems

The Goethe Institute organises a hackathon in October (1-3) on bias in data and AI systems where everyone is welcome to participate. More information about the event is available here: https://www.goethe.de/prj/one/en/aco/ver/hac.html
You can win a price of 2500 euros and get experience from working together in international teams during the hackathon days. There are 6 challenges organised by various partners (the FCAI SIG on language, speech and cognition as one of them) with a focus on multilingual data and translation.
