Who?

The project was managed and coordinated by University of Helsinki (UH), Dept. of Geosciences and Geography, in full partnership with College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) in Adi Keih. Other partners include:

  • Eritrea Institute of Technology (EIT)
  • Hamelmalo Agricultural College (HAC)
  • College of Marine Science & Technology (COMSAT)
  • Eritrean Mapping & Information Centre (EMIC)

The first batch of 12 students in the MSc programme were existing junior teaching staff and BSc holders from the above mentioned partner HEIs, as well as in-house staff from EMIC. After graduation in September 2018, the teachers have returned to their institutions to teach and supervise new students in geoinformatics under various graduate programmes. The MSc programme in Geoinformatics, however, will continue to train new students at CASS in the future.
