Description

The third international New Approaches in English Historical Lexis Symposium (HEL-LEX3) will be held on March 7-10, 2012. The previous Hel-Lex conference in 2008 was a resounding success. Following in its footsteps, we are once again taking the conference to a location outside Helsinki. This time the picturesque Tvärminne Zoological Station on the southern coast of Finland, not far from Hanko.

We hope to bring together international scholars with a range of interests in historical lexical studies, including professional lexicographers and historical linguists, interested in applying and developing new research methods in this area of English historical linguistics.

The proceedings of the first two HEL-LEX symposia are available online and in hard copy (Cascadilla Proceedings Project; Cascadilla Press). We are looking once again into getting the proceedings published on Cascadilla.

The deadline for abstracts has been extended to 11 November 2011.
