The Author and His Blog

I started writing this blog in fall 2009 at the Mittag-Leffler institute where I was participating a research program. I am a Ph.D. student in mathematical logic (set theory and model theory) under the supervision of Tapani Hyttinen at the University of Helsinki.

My interest in mathematics is very broad, much broader than I am able to include in my official scientific research (because math is hard). This is the main reason why I started this blog: to keep thinking and discussing about mathematical puzzles and ideas outside of my main research field and also out of the fun of sharing, explaining and educating.

Recently I have changed the name of the blog from Walks on Math into Walks on Mind, because I realized that very often I am eager to write not so mathematical things and also because “Walks on Math” might too easily scare away readers who are not mathematically inclined.
