I am a  researcher at the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies, University of Helsinki.

I received my PhD at Inalco (Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales) in 2015 and spent three years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Anthropology, UC Berkeley.

My research sits at the intersection of descriptive linguistics, interactional linguistics and linguistic anthropology. I am a committed fieldworker, specializing in Mande languages of West Africa, especially the Mano language (400 000 speakers in Guinea and Liberia). My current research project supported by a grant from the Kone Foundation studies language contact, variation and change, with a particular focus on the role of religion in contact and on multilingual language acquisition in the family and in the community.
