The Monatta Project 2011-2010
The Palmenia Centre for Continuing Education of the University of Helsinki, together with Amiedu, is implementing the Monatta Project from 2011 to 2013. The project is partially funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and approved by the Uusimaa Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY).
The objectives of the Monatta Project are to promote equality in the Finnish labour market and to promote the match between labour supply and demand. The target groups of the project are Finnish employers and immigrants living in Finland.
During the project, employers will increase their skills and readiness in immigrant recruitment, workplace orientation, utilization of immigrant expertise, and networking between businesses and organisations. Immigrants will increase their skills and readiness in job searching, work-life preparedness, Finnish language, and information and communication technology (ICT).
The Palmenia Centre for Continuing Education is managing the Monatta Project. Palmenia and Amiedu are jointly responsible for the training of employer partners. Palmenia is in charge of assisting immigrants in developing their job searching skills, work-life preparedness, and Finnish language skills. In addition, Palmenia is responsible for developing immigrant networking activities.
Amiedu, together with Palmenia, is responsible for training employer partners during the project. Amiedu will also support the part of the project concerning the training of immigrants in ICT skills development.
