Inkeri Hakamies

Inkeri Hakamies is a PhD-student in European Ethnology. In her research she digs into the Finnish museum history to find out how social practices in the museum field have been adapted and changed , and what sort of meanings they carry. Her interests include oral history, museum traditions, and children as museum visitors. For the semester 2016-2017 she will be a visiting PhD-student at the University of Tübingen.

She has contributed to a number of museology courses in Helsinki as a guest lecturer, and also as an assignment and examination evaluator.

She is a member of the SIEF working group for Museums and Material Culture. She is also a board member of the Association of the Finnish Ethnologists (Ethnos) and a sub-editor to the journal Ethnologia Fennica.
