Intro:
I am a socio-cultural anthropologist specializing in environmental anthropology and political ecology. My research focuses on human-environmental relations, land use and the politics of natural resources. I am particularly interested in tropical horticulture, agrarian change, space and place, territorialization, state formation and the articulation of different value systems. My area of specialization is Melanesia, and I have conducted long-term fieldwork in the Pomio District of East New Britain Province, Papua New Guinea.

I am the co-editor-in-chief of Suomen antropologi: Journal of the Finnish Anthropological Society together with Heikki Wilenius. Suomen antropologi is fully open access journal with no charges, fees or embargoes. By editing the journal, we seek to foster ethical and accessible forms of academic publishing.
