Hi!

I’m currently working as a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Physics, University of Helsinki. I have a PhD in Physics education research. My main research interest is concept learning in physics. My research focuses on conceptual change, psychological/cognitive aspects of concept learning and especially the role of relational knowledge in learning scientific concepts.

My secondary research topics are models and modelling in science education and scientific literacy. Moreover, I’m interested in cognitive science (especially relational categories/concepts and the cognitive processes underlying them), philosophy of science / science studies (especially models, modelling and the structure of scientific knowledge) and educational policies.

I’m currently working in the didactical physics group led by Ismo T. Koponen. I’m funded by the Academy of Finland Project No. 131449 (Learning Abstract Scientific Knowledge in Higher Education).
