Guest lecture by Assoc. Prof. Almeida Sitoe from the Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique

Prof. Almeida Sitoe has been working at the Eduardo Mondlane University since 1988; he completed his MSc and PhD (year 2000) at the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) in Costa Rica. His work includes teaching, research and consultancy in the area of natural forests with emphasis on ecosystem modelling, forests and climate change, and integrated natural resource management in cooperation with governments, NGO’s and private entities.
Since 2013, Prof. Almeida has been cooperating with VITRI and the Pellervo Economic Research (PTT) in the implementation of the project “Private Agricultural Investments and Land Use Change Impact on The Adaptive Capacity of Local Communities to Climate Change in Mozambique” (PAIMO)
The title of his lecture is: The Forestry sector in Mozambique
