Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

Women in Life Science Helsinki (WILS) is hosting an online seminar Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace Tuesday 18th January 2022 1-3pm. The seminar will touch on several important subjects around the topic, including 
 
– Basic concepts; types of biases and stereotypes 
– Concepts of diversity and inclusion
– Negative effects on recruitment, evaluation, and performance 
– Why a diverse and egalitarian workplace matters for your research 
– Strategies to build a diverse and inclusive workplace
 
Seminar is followed by discussion with the speakers and participants. We welcome researchers from all career stages to join the discussion!

HILIFE WE­BINARS in January 2020

Happy New year to all!

We are happy to announce that January HiLIFE Webinars are organised by WILS in Helsinki.

The first speaker is Professor Renata Prunskaite-Hyyryläinen from University of Oulu, Finland.

Title of the talk: Reveled function of novel testes genes and glimpse to 3D uterine morphology

Renata has a long-lasting interest and expertise in the field of reproductive biology, studying early sex determination, gamet development, and genetic causes of infertility. Her research work is aiming to bring new knowledge and deepen current understanding of the fundamental and novel processes related to reproductive biology. Currently her group is specifically focusing on: (I) Uterine organogenesis, uterine gland and extracellular matrix role in establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. (II) Characterization of novel genes responsible for male fertility.
