Mathematics and Science Education
The Research Centre for Mathematics and Science Education (RCMSE) conducts research and development work in several areas related to mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, and technology education. Current activities relate especially with teaching-studying-learning processes, models of teaching in mathematics, science and technology education, and modern information and communication technologies in these areas, as well as developing and producing of teaching and learning materials.
RCMSE has wide cooperational networks with researchers in other Finnish universities, especially it should be mentioned the universities of Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Lapland, Tampere and Turku as well as the Teacher Education Department of Åbo Akademi University at Vaasa. The Centre has also an intensive international research cooperational network; especially with the universities of Bielefeld (Germany), Budapest (Hungary), Copenhagen (Denmark), Cyprus (Cyprus), Duisburg (Germany), Genua (Italy), Jena (Germany), Kharkov (Ukraine), Kristiansand (Norway), Kristianstad (Sweden), La Trobe (Australia), Oslo (Norway), San Diego (CA/USA), Tallinn (Estonia), Tartu (Estonia), Windsor (Canada), Torun (Poland) and Plovdiv (Bulgary) .
